Executive Director, aid infodienst, Bonn, Germany
After vocational training in household management for agricultural households, Margareta Büning-Fesel studied nutritional science and home economics at the University of Bonn in Germany. Since 1991 she has worked at aid infodienst, a service for agricultural and nutritional information and consumer awareness based in Bonn, initially as an editor.
In 1996 Büning-Fesel earned a doctoral degree from the University of Bonn in cooperation with the Research Institute of Child Nutrition Dortmund. Since December 2001, she has been the Executive Director of aid infodienst. She has also been teaching campaigns on nutrition education at the University of Applied Sciences Niederrhein since 2003.
Büning-Fesel is a board member of the "5 a Day" association and of the Federation of Nutritional Behaviour. She is also a member of the advisory board of the Bavarian Competence Centre for Nutrition. She is married and has two teenage children.
