Media and foreign policy in the digital age – Submit your pitch now!

Planning for the 2015 Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum is already well underway, which means it's time for you to take action!

Due to the enormous interest in the event, we have decided to introduce a pitch process this year to determine which workshops to offer. Those organizations with the most creative and interactive ideas - as well as the appropriately convincing content - will be selected to take part next year.

You are invited to submit your workshop concepts prior to November 30. Please send your application materials by email to gmf@dw.de.

Please provide us with:

· A brief topical outline (max. 1,500 characters incl. spaces)

Additionally:

· The format of the proposed workshop (fishbowl conversation, quiz, etc.)

· The expected number of speakers

· If potential speakers have already been determined, please include their names, functions and organizations.

Please bear the following considerations in mind:

· Deal thematically with some aspect of the overall conference topic.

· Present a perspective that has not already been widely publically discussed.

· Please ensure that the 90-minute workshop includes audience-engaging activities.

· Workshops are not meant as marketing tools! Their purpose is to enhance the conference topic, not promote your organization.

· When considering potential speakers, remember to include variety. Please do not propose only employees from your own company!

· We are not interested in marathon panel discussions. In fact, interactive formats are expressly encouraged, such as a quiz formats, fishbowl discussions, “speed dating” sessions, etc.

· If you still prefer to suggest a panel format, please make clear why this configuration is absolutely essential to your workshop.

· Describe for us how you intend to actively involve your audience. How will you handle audience members' input? And how will you include their participation?

· Whenever possible, please design your workshop as a multimedia experience.

We are very much looking forward to your application!
