Solveig Haupt is an independent consultant with 16 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and global health. Most recently she co-authored the guide “Bringing medicines to low-income markets: A guide to creating inclusive business models for pharmaceutical companies” for the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Germany's agency for international cooperation, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). She also advised the Clinton Health Access Initiatives (CHAI) on strategy and leadership questions. As Director Global Access for Pfizer Inc., she developed a pilot for maternal health in partnership with Professor Muhammad Yunus’ Grameen Kalyan organization in Bangladesh.
Haupt has also led the launch of various new medicines for Pfizer Inc. and counseled the hospital management at Christian Medical College, Tamil Nadu, India, on PR and fundraising activities. In Uganda, she conducted research on bed-net replacement strategies in collaboration with LaFarge, a global cement manufacturer, and the Global Business Coalition against HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis.
