Massimiliano Mascherini is a research manager at Eurofound, the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions. He recently published a new report on youths and young people not in education, employment or training (NEETs) and an evaluation of the effectiveness of policy measures in re-integrating young people into the labor market. His main research interests lie in the fields of social cohesion, civic engagement and labor market participation, with great emphasis on young people and the social consequences of their exclusion from the labor market. Before joining Eurofound, Mascherini worked as a scientific officer at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. He has been a visiting fellow at the University of Sydney, Australia, and at Aalborg University in Denmark.
